Journey With Cacao

Journey with the "food of the Gods"

There is something deeply powerful that happens when we gather in sacred space, slow down, and honour the spirit of cacao. These journeys are an invitation to reconnect — with your heart, your body, your breath, and the ancient wisdom within.

What is Ceremonial Cacao?

Cacao — the pure, unprocessed form of chocolate — has been revered for thousands of years by Mesoamerican cultures such as the Mayans and Aztecs, who honoured it as a sacred plant spirit. Known as “The Food of the Gods”, cacao was used in ritual and ceremony to open the heart, connect with the divine, and awaken deeper levels of inner truth.

Ceremonial cacao is a pure, minimally processed form of cacao — often referred to as heart medicine. Grown organically and ethically in its native regions, it is harvested by small-scale farmers who treat the land and the plant with reverence.

Unlike commercial cocoa (which is often heavily processed and stripped of nutrients), ceremonial-grade cacao retains its full spectrum of bioactive compounds — including theobromine, magnesium, tryptophan, phenylethylamine (PEA)and anandamide. These are all known to support:

  • Cardiovascular health and circulation

  • Focus, clarity, and creativity

  • Feelings of love, connection, and euphoria

  • Emotional release and mood regulation

  • Nervous system nourishment and muscle relaxation

What to Expect in Ceremony

My personal experience with cacao is one of grounding and returning home to myself. I feel open, connected, and attuned to the quiet love and possibility that lives within. But ceremony is not always calm — and it’s not meant to be.

Each journey is unique.

You may feel peaceful and heart-softened… or you may find something rising to be released — through breath, emotion, or even sound. Ceremony gives you what you need, and that may look different each time.

As an experienced space-holder, I felt called to deepen my relationship with this sacred medicine and become a Certified Cacao Practitioner. This ensures that the way I share is both rooted in respect for cacao’s origins and grounded in trauma-awareness and deep integrity.

Groups are lovingly limited to 8 participants for depth and intimacy.

In each journey, you can expect:

  • A sacred cacao blessing & guided sipping ritual

  • Meditation and breath to connect the heart and womb space

  • Energy work (may include hands-on with permission)

  • Sound frequencies using drum, bowls, and chimes to support energy flow

  • Carefully curated music to enhance your journey

  • Connection to ancestral presence and elemental energies

  • A safe and reverent space to soften into your own experience

  • Optional journalling  &. sharing circle to honour and integrate

You are held every step of the way — with gentleness, presence, and care.

Science meets Soul

Modern science is beginning to support what ancient traditions have always known — cacao has profound effects on the heart, mind, and spirit. Rich in theobromine, cacao gently stimulates circulation and opens the cardiovascular system. It also contains anandamide (the "bliss molecule") and phenylethylamine, which enhance mood and focus, and magnesium, known for soothing the nervous system.

Research suggests that cacao may:

  • Improve cardiovascular health by increasing nitric oxide (Harvard, 2020)

  • Enhance emotional well-being and resilience

  • Support deep meditative states through improved blood flow and relaxationIn ceremony, these benefits translate to a deeper connection with your inner self and a more embodied, heart-centered experience.

All ceremonies are held with your wellbeing and autonomy as the highest priority.  Every ceremony I offer is rooted in reverence.
